Orthopedic Bodywork involves an overall assessment and testing of orthopedic conditions, posture, movement limitations, injuries, pain and discomfort. Then we move into a very specific realignment, myofascial release, clinic deep tissue techniques, facilitated stretching, and neuromuscular (NMT) therapies to address your body’s specific issue. Some of this work may be clothes on, so dress comfortably. This modality is best when you just want to fix one problem quickly. It doesn't address full body wellness or posture as well as some of the other modalities. Still, this is my most popular offering because it helps reduce pain and discomfort quickly.
Sometimes this is also called, "medical massage" or "therapeutic massage," however orthopedic bodywork is a certification in how to assess and treat clinical soft tissue disorders. Medical massage usually supports medical conditions like lymphadema, fibromyalgia, cancer, diabetes, etc. All massage is on some level therapeutic. If you have a serious medical condition or moderately severe orthopedic condition, I prefer that you get a doctor's approval to receive massage.
