auto accident injuries

I am trained in orthopedic bodywork and I have extensive, successful experience with recent and older auto injuries like whiplash, migraines and low back pain. You deserve to see a therapist that really knows how to help.

"I was recently walking when I was hit by a car. I have been receiving several forms of therapy but nothing has addressed my issues the way that Mira has at Centered Bodywork. Each session she studies my body, addresses what is off and then spends our meeting working to correct the problem. From the start of every session to the end I can see a significant difference in my alignment and flexibility. I cannot say enough about Mira's approach and skills. She will not give you a superficial massage that feels nice for an hour. She will not treat your pain, rather she goes directly to the cause of discomfort and fixes the real issue. She understands the body. She understands muscles, flexibility and balance and how they are connected.

It doesn't cost you any more to see a skilled therapist that knows more than just standard Swedish/Deep Tissue through auto insurance. In fact, you will likely recover much faster and safer if you see an LMT with orthopedic training. Whether you see me or another LMT, please find the best therapist you can that takes auto insurance. Any good chiropractor, LAC, ND or doctor will be willing to coordinate care with your preferred therapist.

Please call before booking a session using insurance (to call, click call now button below).
If you are injured in a motor vehicle collision in Oregon, it is your right to seek treatment from providers of your choice. Before seeking bodywork services, your primary care physician or a licensed medical doctor must evaluate the extent of your injuries and determine whether massage therapy is an appropriate treatment for you.

Your treatments, if approved by a qualified medical professional, are covered by your PIP even if another party is at fault. Your auto insurance will pay for treatments related to your MVA injury for up to one year from the date of the incident OR until your PIP benefits are exhausted. Check with your auto insurance company to find out the specifics of your policy. There are a few insurance companies that are unreliable at paying health care providers. For these companies, you can pay out of pocket and submit paperwork for reimbursement.

Prior to coming in for your appointment, you must obtain a prescription for "Massage Therapy" from your primary care physician or chiropractor. The prescription has to state an ICD 10 diagnosis code, the number of treatments and/or frequency prescribed, and a 97124 or 97140 CPT code in order for your sessions to be covered. Your doctor can use their own form or our Referral Form to ensure we get all the appropriate information.

You will need the following:
  • A doctor's referral note or prescription.with ICD 10 diagnosis codes, number and frequency of massage sessions. All insurance clients must receive treatment for a diagnosed medical condition. I base my treatment on that diagnosis. I do not offer pure relaxation massage as this type of massage is not covered by auto insurance.
  • You do not need your referral to specify my name, but for insurance purposes, please use my license name, Heather Young.

Two forms you should have filled out when billing your auto insurance:
  • prescription form (if you don't already have a prescription from a doctor)
  • insurance intake form

If you plan to get reimbursed by your health insurance:
  • insurance pre-approval form
  • note: I don't bill health insurance directly, only auto insurance
